LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Athletics announced Friday it has founded the Luke Siegel Fund that will be allotted to the Purple Raider men’s tennis and baseball courses per year and to a scholarship in his memory.
As element of the fund, Texas Tech has made a scholarship endowment by the Crimson Raider Club that will be awarded annually to a Red Raider men’s tennis or baseball college student-athlete – two of Luke’s preferred sports. Texas Tech will also honor Siegel in both crew services at the McLeod Tennis Center and Dan Regulation Industry at Rip Griffin Park.
“Luke Siegel still left a lasting legacy that not only impressed this community but all those throughout the region,” Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt reported. “Though we mourn his passing, we cherish the lessons Luke taught us on like, faith and most importantly, toughness. His memory will not before long be forgotten, and we will continue to honor Luke for several many years to arrive.”
